Deconstructed Kimono Sleeve Tie Sweater (Red)

$400.00

The garment features a loose-fitting turtleneck as its base, with a deconstructed and reimagined kimono silhouette. A key design detail is the inverted triangular cutout at the neckline, which elongates the visual proportions of the neck while reducing the bulkiness typically associated with sweaters. The sleeves rework the traditional wide kimono sleeves, featuring an open armhole design. Hidden buttons are placed along the armholes, allowing for two styling options: fastening the buttons to fully display the wide kimono sleeves or leaving them undone for a cape-like layered effect. This sweater also comes with a belt, adding depth to the look while cinching the waist for a flattering silhouette.

The collection drew inspiration from Kabuki culture, a group known for their extravagant attire and unconventional behavior during Japan's late Sengoku period. These individuals, referred to as "Kabukimono," shaped contemporary pop culture with their bold and unconventional lifestyle. Reflecting on the present, fashion continues to be driven by innovation and rebellion, INF wants to invite everyone to become modern-day Kabukimono.

The clothing structure draws on traditional Japanese silhouettes, such as haori, hakama, and jinbei, as the foundation, and deconstructs them with modern pieces like suits and shirts. Designs like kimono bomber jackets and jinbei suits strike a perfect balance between vintage and innovation. In line with INF’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the collection uses the highest-quality materials and tailored designs, allowing the garments to adapt to various occasions, reducing waste and fashion excess. As designer Kuo Wei puts it: "We aim to prevent waste before it happens, enhancing the brand's sustainability impact."
